Privacy Policy – Alkhattab Foundation
The privacy of our donors is of great importance to Alkhattab Foundation. We adhere to privacy laws, which means your data is processed securely and responsibly. This privacy policy explains what we do with information we learn about you.

Processing of personal data
We are responsible for the processing of your personal data. This means that we determine the purposes and means of processing, and that we are responsible for complying with all legal requirements.
Processing donations
When you make a donation to Alkhattab Foundation, we use your personal data to process your donation accurately and discreetly. We receive information about your donation from your bank. For this purpose, we use your payment details, phone number, gender, name and address details, and email address. This is required by law. We retain this information for seven years (as required by the statutory retention period).
Contact form and newsletter
You can use the contact form to send us questions or requests. For this, we use your phone number, email address, and name and address details — all necessary to maintain contact with you. We store this information until we are sure you are satisfied with our response, and for six months thereafter, so we can refer back to it easily if you contact us again.
Your email address will only be added to our list of subscribers with your consent. These details are stored until you cancel your subscription.
Mailing
We like to keep you informed about our campaigns and projects and may send you information via email and social media. You can opt out of receiving these mailings at any time by sending an email to info@alkhattabfoundation.nl.
Sharing with other companies or institutions
We will never share your personal data with other companies or organizations, unless required by law (for example, if the tax authorities request it for verification).
Security
We place great importance on the security of your personal data. Therefore, we have implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data against loss or any form of unlawful processing. We have established an information security policy and have taken physical, organizational, and electronic measures in accordance with it.
We do not store personal data longer than necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, and in any case, only for as long as required by specific regulations. In the event of a data breach, we are obliged to immediately report it to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens – AP).
Changes to this privacy policy
When our website is updated, this privacy policy may also need to be amended. Please check the date at the bottom of this page to see if any changes have been made. We will do our best to announce major updates separately.
Access, modification, and deletion of your data
If you have questions or wish to know what personal data we have about you, you can always contact us. Our contact details can be found in the final section of this page.
You have the following rights: to receive an explanation of what personal data we have and how we use it; to access the exact personal data we hold; to correct any errors; to delete outdated personal data; to withdraw consent; to object to a specific use of your data. In all cases, except the first, we will ask you to submit your request in writing. For security reasons, verification of your identity will always be required.
Filing a complaint
If you believe that we have not handled your data correctly, you have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens – AP).
